WATKINS GLEN, NY — A dry red Cabernet Franc from the Finger Lakes has been named New York’s top wine for 2019.
The 2016 Cabernet Franc from from Six Mile Creek Vineyard just outside Ithaca won the 2019 Governor’s Cup as the best wine of the year at the annual New York Wine Classic, held this weekend at the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen. The cup, a large silver chalice, recognizes the “Best of Show” among all entries in the competition.
